Band Manager Foster
Description:
The tale of Foster begins in New Jersey in the summer of 2002- a magical time when $10 could buy half a tank of gas and the common folk danced in unison to the songs of Moulin Rouge! After recording demos in a friend’s home studio, the band built a following by opening for nationally known acts like Hidden in Plain View(Drive-Thru), Bayside (Victory), Limbeck (Doghouse), as well as many respected local artists.
At the advice of a friend, Foster recorded their debut EP with Matt Squire (Panic! At the Disco, The Receiving End of Sirens, Thrice) and released it independently in the spring of 2004. Since its release, Foster has built a strong reputation as one of the hardest working bands in their genre. Independently, the self-titled four track EP was picked up for northeastern distribution by Hot Topic and became a staple in the Top 50 sales chart of SmartPunk.com’s online store.
To support the release, the band hit the road on their self-booked tour of the east coast with friends Houston Calls (Rushmore). In 2005 the band recorded three new demos, again with Matt Squire, one of which reached the number one spot on Purevolume.com’s unsigned artist chart. The band then spent the summer months on two self-booked tours; which took them up and down the east coast and across the entire U.S.
Currently, Foster is producing and recording their new material for a full-length release later this year and is eager to take their new material on the road this summer.
