Oblivious Signal – Into The Night

I awaken one night with cold chills down my spine,
Stare at the eyes of the perfect Lie…
Gaze at me into my eyes…
So perfect and divine,
Take this life…
Consuming all that is right,
Take it all into the darkness of Night.

-Into The Night, Oblivious Signal

Independent metal band Oblivious Signal continues to grow stronger by putting out substantial albums like the upcoming July 5th release Into The Night.

Since the days of Lita Ford hard rock chics have been hot. It’s not a surprise that hard rock and metal music fans are longing for strong female front women, as they continue to dominate the pop world. If fans of pop/country want to hear Taylor Swift; rock/pop fans are still enamored with Pink; and we don’t have room on the page to enumerate uber successful ladies in the hip hop world, who are their metal counterparts to turn to? Bands like Lacuna Coil, Flyleaf, and Oblivious Signal are filling that need.

Oblivious Signal has always had some of the more intricate lyrics in their genre and this album takes that a step further, the vocals weaving their way into the guitars with professional musicians ease and understanding of the melodies.
The full length provides an abundance of the new music craved by both men who want to hear a sexy female singing in a style they can feel, and girls who are not looking for the frills, but wanting a powerful female’s voice portraying a position of strength.

Into The Night is an evolution for Oblivious Signal. It’s a marked upgrade from the EP, which had substance and style, but was missing the intangible sound that is so apparent when a band comes into it’s own as a professional music group.
While songs from the EP were re-recorded and made the cut on the new album, the recent efforts have a fresh and more mature resonance. The new songs, such as What Drowns The Screams and the tittle track Into The Night have a commercial quality without a standard commercial sound. Or, conversely, maybe these songs will be the new standard for future commercial sounds.
